Sinopse
MARIA (mulher cis, negra) está no bar em seu ritual silencioso, entre o trabalho e a vida. Sua rotina é interrompida pela chegada de KAREN (mulher cis, branca), curiosa, inquieta e invasiva. O encontro casual se transforma, ao longo da noite, em um território instável. NA ENCRUZILHADA acompanha esse jogo psicológico em que permanecer pode ser tão perigoso quanto sair.
Synopsis
MARIA (cisgender Black woman) is at the bar in her quiet ritual, between work and life. Her routine is interrupted by the arrival of KAREN (cisgender white woman), curious, restless, and invasive. The casual encounter turns, over the course of the night, into an unstable territory. Na Encruzilhada follows this psychological game in which staying can be just as dangerous as leaving.

TRANSCRIÇÃO DO ÁUDIO: Na encruzilhada é sobre o encontro de Maria e Karen, duas mulheres cis, uma negra e outra branca, que se encontram casualmente num bar, e esse encontro vai se transformando ao longo da noite num território instável.
À medida que o tempo passa, as diferenças de classe, raça e gênero entre elas atravessa a relação, escalando até uma situação absurda.
Elas estão especificamente nos fundos de um bar, na verdade, E esse é um espaço improvisado, caótico, que acaba refletindo as personagens.
Se chama na encruzilhada porque o próprio espaço encruzilhado é um espaço de movimento, travessia, escolha, risco, é onde Exu habita, e na peça ele está presente, seja no cenário, seja na sonoplastia. E essa estrutura toda faz com que as personagens se revelem, sem apontar respostas, mas sim as escolhas que essas personagens vão fazendo e as consequências dessas escolhas.
Se chama também “Na Encruzilhada” porque a história real que inspirou essa peça aconteceu numa encruzilhada. E é uma peça de uma comédia absurda que tem também rupturas contemporâneas em que as personagens são quebradas para as atrizes também tomarem espaço na cena, para ampliar essas discussões que as próprias personagens levantaram.
Enntão é isso. Na Encruzilhada é também uma escolha de rir de si mesmo para poder se entender, se acolher, se conflitar. E é isso!
Transcription: Na Encruzilhada (At the Crossroads) is about the encounter between Maria and Karen, two cis women—one Black and the other white—who meet casually at a bar. Over the course of the night, this encounter gradually transforms into an unstable territory.
As time passes, the differences of class, race, and gender between them cut across their relationship, escalating into an absurd situation.
They are specifically in the back area of a bar. It’s an improvised, chaotic space that ends up reflecting the characters themselves.
It’s called Na Encruzilhada because the crossroads is itself a space of movement, crossing, choice, and risk—it is where. The orisha Exu dwells. In the play, Exu is present, whether in the set design or in the sound design. This whole structure allows the characters to reveal themselves, without offering clear answers, but rather showing the choices they make and the consequences of those choices.
It is also called Na Encruzilhada because the real story that inspired the play took place at a crossroads. It is an absurd comedy that also includes contemporary ruptures, in which the characters are broken open so that the actresses can step into the scene as themselves, expanding on the discussions raised by the characters.
So that’s it. Na Encruzilhada is also a choice to laugh at oneself in order to understand, embrace, and confront oneself. And that’s it!

Actress, director, and teacher. Graduated from EAD ECA-USP and holds a Bachelor’s and Teaching Degree in Theater from UAM. She performed in Ao Vivo – Dentro da Cabeça de Alguém, nominated for the Bibi Ferreira Award; Voo Livre Arte (Márcio Abreu).
