This study by Eduardo Fukushima and Beatriz Sano, still in development, began during a three-week residency held between February and March 2026 at Campus in Porto, Portugal.

TRANSCRIÇÃO DO ÁUDIO: Olá, Beatriz Sano e eu, Eduardo Fukushima, estamos começando a criação de uma nova peça.
A gente tá na primeira residência desse trabalho aqui em Porto, Portugal.
Faz três semanas, né? E a gente tá dando uma continuidade, a nossa pesquisa na relação entre voz e movimento.

E, no momento, a gente tá trabalhando com a improvisação vocal de Inês Terra, e também tem uma pitada das músicas de Yama Yuki e Juliana R.

Esse trabalho tá no começo, a gente não tem tantas palavras, mas a gente tá se debruçando numa coreografia do pequeno, de pequenos gestos, e proporcionando e tensionando um tempo, ritmo.

Transcription: Hello, Beatriz Sano and I, Eduardo Fukushima, are beginning the creation of a new piece.
We are currently in the first residency for this work here in Porto, Portugal.
It has been three weeks, and we are continuing our research into the relationship between voice and movement.

At the moment, we are working with vocal improvisation by Inês Terra, and there is also a touch of music by Yama Yuki and Juliana R.
This work is still at the beginning. We don’t yet have many words for it, but we are delving into a choreography of the small — of small gestures — exploring and tensioning time and rhythm.

Beatriz Sano e Eduardo Fukushima colaboram há 13 anos em trabalhos artísticos um do outro. Juntos conceberam a peça O QUE MANCHA (2021), HORIZONTE (2023) e Cair + Um extraordinário canto experimental (2025). Em 2024, participaram do KunstenArtsFestival em Bruxelas, coreografaram o Balé da Cidades de São Paulo com a peça Horizonte+ e a companhia Giradança com estreia em Natal, RN. Em abril de 2019 co-dirigiram juntamente com Isabel R. Monteiro e Júlia Rocha a peça IMAGINE.

Short biography

Beatriz Sano and Eduardo Fukushima have collaborated for 13 years on each other’s artistic works. Together, they conceived the pieces O QUE MANCHA (2021), HORIZONTE (2023), and Cair + Um extraordinário canto experimental (2025). In 2024, they participated in the Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels, choreographed the Balé da Cidade de São Paulo with the piece Horizonte+, and created a work for the Giradança, which premiered in Natal, RN. In April 2019, they co-directed the piece IMAGINE together with Isabel R. Monteiro and Júlia Rocha.
