Sinopse

Um homem não consegue dormir. Suas dívidas tiram seu sono. Enquanto tenta descansar, relembra as expectativas que criou, quando jovem, para seu futuro. No limiar entre vigília e sonho, vê que sua dívida vem desde os anos da escravização e que pagá-la não parece ser uma opção.

Synopsis

A man cannot sleep. His debts keep him awake. As he tries to rest, he recalls the expectations he created in his youth for his future. On the threshold between wakefulness and dream, he realizes that his debt dates back to the years of enslavement—and that paying it does not seem to be an option.

TRANSCRIÇÃO DO ÁUDIO: Oi gente, aqui quem fala é Vinícius Bernardo. Eu tô aqui pra falar do espetáculo “Dívida”. Nós vamos fazer uma abertura de processo desse espetáculo no Farofa desse ano.

Esse é um espetáculo que narra a história de um homem que não consegue dormir por conta das dívidas. Ele rememora um passado em que foi jovem e cheio de futuro pela frente e durante essas noites em claro também sonha com o passado colonial que talvez seja o responsável pela ausência de sono e de sonho.

Esse espetáculo tem sido pensado por mim, Vinícius Bernardo, há três anos, e agora, me juntando a Breno Rosa Gomes e Tenca Silva, vamos fazer nossa primeira abertura.

É basicamente um espetáculo que tenta ser um espetáculo para ninar.
A ideia é retomar a ideia de descanso como fundamento das relações humanas e questionar se a falta de descanso no nosso tempo não é exatamente um plano feito desde a época da colonização.

Transcription: Hi everyone, this is Vinicius Bernardo speaking. I’m here to talk about the performance “Dívida.” We are going to present an opening of the process for this piece at this year’s Farofa.
This is a performance that tells the story of a man who cannot sleep because of his debts. He remembers a past in which he was young and full of a future ahead of him, and during these sleepless nights he also dreams of the colonial past that may be responsible for the absence of sleep and of dreams.

This performance has been in my mind, Vinicius Bernardo’s, for three years, and now, together with Breno Rosa-Gomes and Tenca Silva, we will be presenting its first public opening.
It is essentially a piece that tries to be a lullaby performance.

The idea is to reclaim rest as a foundation of human relationships and to question whether the lack of rest in our time is not, in fact, a plan established since the era of colonization.

Minibio

Vinicius Bernardo é ator e educador. Estudou na Escola de Arte Dramática da USP e na Faculdade Paulista de Artes. Dançou com Luciane Ramos Silva e atuou no filme "Barba ensopada de Sangue", de Aly Muritiba. Foi programador do SESC São Paulo, coordenador do Programa Vocacional (2023) e Agente de Formação no Programa Jovem Monitor Cultural (2024). Atualmente dança no Núcleo Vagal.

Short biography

Vinicius Bernardo is an actor and educator. He studied at the Escola de Arte Dramática of USP and at the Faculdade Paulista de Artes. He danced with Luciane Ramos Silva and appeared in the film Barba Ensopada de Sangue, directed by Aly Muritiba. He was a programmer at SESC São Paulo, coordinator of the Programa Vocacional (2023), and a Training Agent in the Programa Jovem Monitor Cultural (2024). He currently dances with Núcleo Vagal.
